Development of Bamboo Dinnerware in Sichuan Province( 2010/12/24)
   Bamboo dinnerware is an industry of ecological economy, to develop bamboo industry must hold firmly the principle of ecology in advance, combine ecological, economic and social benefits. We must make strict protection, scientific management, sustainable use of bamboo resource; scientific planning and rational distribution of newly-plating bamboo forests.    By the end of 2002, the coverage of bamboo forests in Sichuan is 460,000 hm2, a 3.61% of the forest area, rank the 5th nationwide, 73.5% of which are controlled plantations with an area of 342,000 hm2. Classified according to operation purposes, timber forests 150,700 hm2, paper pulp forests 157,300 hm2, bamboo shoots forests 48,000 hm2, ecological forests 11, 0700 hm2. The major rural economic bamboo species are Bamboo-Chee and Moso-Bamboo. The bamboo resources in the province increase rapidly, creating favorable conditions for the development of bamboo industries. To meet the needs of bamboo, the province see the establishment of bamboo cultivate bases of 2,600 hm2, the capacities of production of bamboo shoots are about 50,000,000 clusters annually.
   With diverse functions, bamboo can be used to make paper, process bamboo flooring, bamboo veneer, bamboo furniture, or weaved into bamboo daily products, bamboo arts and crafts and bamboo shoots can be used to develop ranges of food, bamboo roots to carve, bamboo leave to make beverage.
