   You have got the frother and the dehydrator. Now it is time for the laser tattoo spoon and the Eye. The leaders of the molecular gastronomy movement are bringing the avant-garde food revolution home with flatware and serving pieces that require a new level of creative cooking and a sense of humor.
   Some of the silverware is recognizable, with Gehry-like lines and hotel silver heft. But Mr. Adrià’s cheekiness comes through in a spoon with a clothespin attachment, flatware tattooed with a floral pattern, or a handle-less spoon etched with micro-measurements. The serving pieces include a bread “basket” — a set of large metal rings that transform a napkin into a dish — and a trio of wavy silver platters.“For sure there’s a practical side to it,” said Mr. Adria in October during a visit to New York. “But on the other hand, the fun part is very important, because at the end of the day, people already have a lot of things at home that are very practical.”
   And so, in Mr. Adria’s opinion, home cooks are ready for a traditional-looking spoon that has been cast in gold and bored with holes. While it may look like the anti-soup spoon, the chef’s eyes lighted up as he described it. “This is great for cereal, because I really want my cereal crispy, without the milk,” he said.
   His take on the ice cream spoon — a metal version of the plastic gelateria staple — is, he said, “so beautiful that you eat the ice cream in a different way.” The clothespin spoon has a clip on its handle for attaching herbs, placing their scent right under the diner’s nose. “The sole purpose of the spoon is to make people think,” he said. “It’s a fun way to make people realize that when you eat you don’t really smell.”
