1. The R&D status of bamboo fiber
    In 1998, Toyo press Co. Ltd of Japan developed a system, which can effectively divide bamboo into fibers. The bamboo fibers can replace glass fiber materials in fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) production. Since the beginning of this century, bamboo fibers began to receive the world's attention. A few years ago, the Marumasa Company of Japan produced bamboo rayon fiber with bamboo imported from Indonesia for production of spring and summer apparels. In 2000, Sichuan LongZhong Cotton Plant with two other companies jointly set up a bamboo fiber development team. They take 12-18 months old Chee-bamboo, after removing green, repeatedly gear rolling pressure and incomplete unglue, made of bamboo fibers which can be used in the spinning of clothing.
    Since 2001, Donghua University began to proceed with adoption of chemically extraction bamboo fibers (technical fibers), and have achieved certain results.Thus, according to different processing method, bamboo fibers can be divided into "original bamboo fiber"-to use physical and mechanical methods to extract bamboo fibers directly from bamboo, also known as "natural bamboo fiber"; "Regenerated bamboo fiber"-to turn natural bamboo into bamboo fibers by chemical degeneration, using the production technology similar to viscose fiber, also known as bamboo pulp fiber or bamboo rayon. The extraction and processing technology of natural bamboo fiber is the original creation of China in the international leading level.
